Did you say...SNAKES!?!?

My niece and nephew visited the Narcisse Snake Den in Winnipeg this past weekend. I mean the next comment in kindest way... I'm glad I wasn't there! Ick! :o)

Raingutter Regatta - Year 2

Late this afternoon we attended Carson's Scout Raingutter Regatta and Cross-Over Ceremony. Carson is now a proud Bear Cub!

If you are interested you can Click Here to see last years race and ceremony.

Carson won 2 out of 3 of his races!!!

Then the rain came pouring down!!! The kids loved it of course!

The Moms grinned and bared the weather...

The rain was kind enough to stop long enough to have a quick cross-over ceremony.

It was a wet, cold afternoon, but the kids had fun. :o)

Field Trip to Bizi Farms

Today I joined Katie's Kindergarten class on a field trip to Bizi Farms. The forecast had originally called for rain, but we lucked out and enjoyed blue skies and sunshine. The kids enjoyed a bumpy hayride and had fun at their petting zoo.

Singing In The Weather

Last night the second graders performed 9 songs in the musical extravaganza, "Singing in the Weather". It was a lot of fun to watch. I was very impressed with all the choreography. If you watch any of the videos below, you might become distracted by "the man with a camera" who sat in front of me. Who would of guessed there would be someone out there more "camera happy" then me???!!! :o) Needless to say, he made my ability to film Carson a creative challenge at times!!

Shabby Chic or just Plain Shabby?

I attempted to make a "shabby chic" purse with some scrap material I found at Good Will (for $2.99). After I crocheted the bag, I sewed in a lining with some of the left over fabric. I then attached the handles (another Good Will find for $1.99). It was fun to make, but it may be too shabby to be considered chic! :o)

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! This year the hubby and kids spoiled me with flowers and homemade gifts. Below is a flower magnet that Carson made me.

On the left is a book Carson made me at school. There are pages and pages of stories and observations on who I am (such as the time I burnt the pumpkin pie to how I apparently play Star Wars on the Wii all day when he is at school!).

This morning Carson made me this adorable pot at Sunday School. After Al took us out for a nice lunch.

We then enjoyed the sunshine with a walk around the Gibbons Creek Wildlife Art Trail. We saw turtles and even some "Wild Canadian Turkeys!" :o)
