We spent Memorial Day at the Minnesota Zoo!

By the end of the day we had some tired kids!  :o)

Memorial Day Parade

Today, both kids walked in the Memorial Day parade with their Scout Troops.  The forecast had called for cloudy skies and rain.  However sunshine and blue skies made an appearance instead.  It was a perfect day for a parade.

Visitors

My sister braved the 8+ hour drive to visit us this past weekend!  We enjoyed 3.5 fun-filled days with her, my Dad and my niece and nephew.  The weather for the most part was fabulous.  We spent a lot of time visiting different parks in our area.  As always we were sad to see them go!

Batter Up!

This past weekend we had the opportunity to see the Minnesota Twins play the Toronto Blue Jays at the Target Center.

We sat 4 rows up from the field.  Al and I became a little self-conscious after Sam (Al's brother) sent a text commenting on the shirt Al was wearing.  He was watching the game on TV and saw us!!!  Once the kids realized Uncle Sam could see them, they started hamming it up for the camera!  It was a fun night.

Poetry Cafe

This afternoon Al and I attended Katie's 2nd grade "Poetry Cafe".  It was a fancy affair.  The students greeted us at the door, we had assigned seating at tables with (plastic) table clothes.  Servers came around offering lemonade and cookies too!  They did an amazing job.

Each child read a poem.

(to keep the noise level down, we were asked to snap our fingers instead of clapping)

Each student wrote a poem using the letters in their name.  (When we moved to Minnesota, Katie asked to be called by her full name, Katelynn). :o)

N - Nice family
N - No peanut butter for me!
