Green t's on the run!

This weekend Katie's Daisy Troop joined hundreds of other girls for "Girl Scouts After Dark" at the mall. It was busy, and a little stressful at times, but without a doubt a lot of fun for the girls.

Many of the stores participated, offering free craft stations and give-aways.

There was a fashion show too!

As the night came to a close, Radio Disney hosted a dance party!
It got a little loud and crowded on the dance floor, so our girls didn't last too long!

As we headed out of the mall, we stopped for a quick jump!

And with the now empty stage... the girls stopped to test out the cat walk!

Shortly after 11:00 PM (yes 11:00 at night!!!) Katie and I arrived home tired, but happy.

4 Wheels and a Dream

Earlier this week Carson and his neighborhood friends came up with the idea of making their own go-cart. On early release Wednesday they started to plan, design and.... well... look for supplies. I found my son digging through our recycling bin and dragging donated items from a neighbor across the street.

Today, Al stepped up to the challenge. After having the kids return their pile of "supplies", he pulled out some spare wood and (with some used training wheels) made a pretty impressive go-cart. Our driveway has the perfect slope and the kids are having a blast!

It was a big night for Carson who earned his orange belt in karate!!!

First Day of School

My 1st and 3rd Grader!

I spent part of the morning in Katie's classroom helping her teacher (by sorting out the shared school supplies with a couple other moms). So it wasn't until I was walking out of the school that it really hit me....

The summer is over and we are starting a new school year. Wow!

The same mixture of emotions hit me like they do every year. I'm excited, yet sad. Full of anticipation and dread. Confident and worried. You know... the standard emotions for a mom on the first day of school! :o)

The kids (thankfully) seem to be doing better then me. They are excited and ready to start another year!
