Happy Halloween!!!

This weekend the pumpkins were carved and tonight the candy was collected!
I'd call this Halloween a success!

This is Carson and his buddy Brady.
(Yes, they are the same age... Minnesota seems to grow their kids taller than most!
Brady also had a much needed coat on under his costume creating the extra bulk).

Al counted 190 kids at our door tonight!  So this proves there are kids in our neighborhood.... the question is... where do they keep them?  LOL!  We never see any kids out and about!!!

PS:  As the parent who always takes the kids out trick or treating... it was a MUCH colder night compared to what we use to experience in Vancouver, WA.  It was a nippy 42 F (or around +5 C) in Minnesota.... burrrrrr  :o(

Taekwondo

In September my kids started the only martial arts program available where we live...Taekwondo.  It is a great program and they really seem to enjoy it.  The only downfall was Carson had to start back as a white belt as the techniques are very different from what he learned in karate.

Today, they participated in their first tournament and earned a few medals and even a trophy!  It was an exciting day!

Katie earned 3rd place in both form and board breaking!!!

Carson came in 1st in form and walked away with 2nd place in board breaking!!!

From Your Person Friend

While in Winnipeg Katie lost one of her front teeth!  Along with the tooth, the Tooth Fairy received another letter from Miss Katelynn.

(In the Tooth Fairy's last note to Katie she signed it "Your Fairy Friend", which prompted Katie's closing). :o)

Dear Tooth Fairy,

In Canada I lost my 3rd tooth.  I could not give it to you earlier because my Dad wanted to see it.  Hey do you remember me?  I was the one who gave you the note that I lost my 2nd tooth.  Can you visit me every night? Because I really want to see you.  Could you give me $100 dollars?  Please.

From,
Your Person Friend,
Katie

PS:  Write back.

$100.00 for a tooth?  You got to give Katie credit for trying!!!

Visiting Winnipeg!

Last week the kids only had 2 days of school, so we packed up the car and braved the 9 hour trip to Winnipeg!  Once there, we enjoyed a 3 day visit with my sister and her family.  The cousins (as always) had a blast playing together.
