Everyone was Kung Fu Fighting!

That darn song kept playing in my head as I watched Carson at his very first Marshal Arts class tonight. :o)

Carson admitted before we arrived that he was a little nervous. However once we arrived any fear he might of had seemed to disappear. Carson was clearly in his element, and I am guessing that bouncing up and down with excitement isn’t an official “kung fu move”, but he couldn’t contain his joy. :o)

My favorite moment was when his instructors brought out wooden boards and explained to the students that if they wanted to earn their white belt tonight, they’d have to break one. I wish I had a picture of Carson’s jaw hitting the floor. Shock turned into pure excitement… and as you can see by the picture below he nailed that board on the first try (yes, all the students did, but that didn’t take away the pride he felt).

I’m thinking this might be the perfect activity for Carson. :o)

...and she bakes too!!!

Not only is Shawna a sweetheart and a wonderful friend... but she bakes too!!! :oP

It was another early release Wednesday within our School Division, so Erin, Shawna and I got the kiddos together for a play date.

A sampling of the children :o)

It was suggested that I should Photoshop into the picture the glass of wine we each enjoyed... but I'm not that talented. :o)

New Year's Eve Day

On December 31st the kids and I spent the afternoon at MOMS Club. A place you could of found me every Tuesday when my kids were little. Now that Carson and Katie are both school aged we rarely attend. There is a whole new group of cool moms running the place now, and it is always fun to go back on occasion to say hi.

My friend Sheri took these pictures. The kids had a count down to the "new year" at noon that day.... with all the bells and whistles (literally!). It was loud, but fun!
