July in Review

In July....

Auntie Debbie, Uncle Dale, Hailey and Taylor came for a visit!!!

We spent time at the pool, water park and the beach

We celebrated the 4th of July with family and friends

Katie went to over-night Girl Scout Camp

Carson and Al went for a weekend of Boy Scout Camp

Carson lost 2 teeth!!

We spent a weekend in Winona, MN

Katie won the Regional Soccer Shoot Out!!!

She'll participate in the State Championship in August!

One evening we curled our hair!!!  LOL!!!

Katie played Miserella in Theater Camp

... and we spent a lot of time with friends!

I signed Katie up for Theater Camp through the Parks and Rec Guide.  Surprisingly, only four other students signed up to participate.  The group however quickly bonded.  Together they picked the play they would perform (Sleeping Ugly) and created all their props.

Katie played Miserella the Princess.  She was described as "beautiful on the outside, but ugly on the inside". Katie had a lot of fun each day, and was very sad that theater camp ended today.

Katie won the Regional Soccer Shoot-out this morning!!! She’ll compete for State Championship in August!

Two Days In Winona...

Our first day in Winona, MN we explored the city.

One of our most interesting moments happened when we saw this father pick up a snapper turtle out of the water by it's tail.  He told us his grandfather used to make a living by catching snappers.  His customers either were interested in turtle soup, or making decorative art pieces with the shells.

On day two we took a hike in the Great River Bluffs State Park.

We also became unwilling blood donors to the State Park's mosquito population.

Despite the mosquito bites, we enjoyed our stay in Winona, MN!
